From the lecture notes on the Negotiation Process, I learn to understand one out of the four phases from the negotiation process which is preparation. I understand negotiation is indeed a complicated process because it is not just all about interactive communication between two parties in order to win something, but it is more than that.
Knowing that there is a detailed process in negotiating makes me realize how important a good negotiation is in our daily life. From the rules and guidelines, the importance of controlling emotions and up to identifying ourselves when negotiating is totally mind-blowing because they are all falling under preparation only which also means that the other phases probably will be much more thorough.
As I read through the notes, for now I can still comprehend the information, but frankly, it is quite heavy for a small topic to have so many things to keep in mind, but I will sure try my best. If there is one thing that I can’t clearly understand is WATNA and BATNA.
